Pull for Scouting: A Community Tug of War Saturday May 12,2007

Pull For Scouting

Brought to you by the Longhorn Council BSA

Overview
Pull for Scouting is a Community Tug O' War Competition conducted by the Longhorn Council, Boy Scouts of America. Local teams from municipal, business, and civic groups battle for bragging rights. This is done through a Tug O' War “fun” competition and through fund raising efforts. Proceeds are for expanding local Scout programs. Pull for Scouting Teams are 7 to 10 individuals recruited to raise funds and have fun. Teams are strongly encouraged to be co-ed. Teams may expand their fund raising capacity by developing “booster” clubs within the department or company for the purpose of helping with fund raising and cheering.
Details
Pull enrollment is open to all employees. Teams are provided with all the materials for conducting the fund-raising. Prizes will be given for a) the winning Tug O' War champions, b) the team raising the highest dollar amount, and c) the individual with the highest dollar amount. The standard team goal is $2000. This includes what is raised by a Team's Booster Club. All Teams will select a “name” and receive a Pull for Scouting T-Shirt and Team Photo. Fund raising occurs at the preference of the individual. They may elect to:
  • Make cash or check payment payable to Longhorn Council or Boy Scouts and give to the individual team member.
  • Make a pledge-a minimum of $20. Scouting will send a bill.
